he's a lover, not a fighter
I got a surprise today. Not only is the copy of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" that I picked up for $1 in ok shape, but when I went to put the record back in the sleeve I noticed something odd ... red crayon ...
I pulled the paper sleeve out of the jacket and this is what I got ...

a kids drawing of Michael! How delightful is that?
watch out!
i broke out of a 3 day hibernation (wow, it seems like longer than that. trying to save cash kind of sucks) last night to head out to Baar Bizarre at the Garden Bowl. there were some cool wares ... mostly vintage clothing and other quirky hipster gear. more stuff for grrls than the fellas fo'sho. the best items were these 3 ring notebooks that someone had made out of the covers of record albums.
liz was nice enough to buy me 2 records - Johnny Cash's "The Last Gunfighter Ballad" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller". For $1 each you couldn't pass them by. I haven't listened to either yet, but the Cash album has one of the coolest covers ever with Johnny dressed all in black with a big black cowboy hat pulled down so you can't see his eyes and him pointing a 6-shooter directly at the camera as if he was going to shoot you right between your eyes.
other highlights of the night:
-the new, ?improved? Bronx bar where apparently it is perfectly ok to give your boyfriend a haircut right in the middle of the bar. just plop down a stool, snap that itchy cape around his neck, and snip, snip, snip.
-the cracked out ass speeding south on the northbound Lodge freeway
fun music ...
be sure to take a listen to the "We Will Rock Beverly Hills" mash-up located in the sidebar ... queen + weezer + joan jett + lynard skynard ... audio dy-no-mite!
also ...
