halloween madness
big day yesterday . . . but first thursday night . . .
went to buy pumpkins for the carving and learned why oakland county sux a@#! who would pay $8.25 for a medium size pumpkin? in monroe county where i lived most of my life, i could easily get 3 pumpkins of =< size for that price. walked away, mama didn't raise no fool.
friday night . . . Rave from the Grave . . .
this is the 1st time i've ever been to the legendary detroit halloween party, and i have to say it lived up to what i expected. lots unoriginal costumes and chickies that use halloween to bring out the inner slut. good times were had, but i ended up working more than i had expected to. i feel bad, i didn't really get to hang with Shawn, Judy, & company. By the way . . . loved your costumes! Judy's Hello Kitty was purrfect! We'll have to ketchup (drink more) tonight @ the Boogie.
i'll leave you with a couple pix . . . more to come (hopefully) . . .

holiday mix-n-match
whatever happen to simple Halloween decorations? is it not awful enough that Oakland Mall has had Christmas decor up since the end of September, but now the new trend is to mix-n-match the very symbols that make each holiday special. NO, i do not want a orange woodend Halloween egg with a witch painted on it. NO, i do not want a Halloween tree that i can decorate with little ghost ornaments. NO, i do not want that wierd jack-o-snow-crow thing. Painted eggs are for Easter, Santas are for Christmas, and ghosts, goblins, black cats, etc. are for Halloween. your attempt at kitchy marketing blows. don't mess with my favorite holiday. i will burn you joann fabrics down.
best thing i heard all day
i was in the studio this afternoon . . . the dj cracks the mic . . .
"weather for today . . . well, its what i like to call snoop dogg weather . . . thats right, drizzle fer shizzle!"
. . . cheezy, yes . . . but it made me laugh . . .
is this it?
do you ever feel like you're just playing grown up? there are times at work where i'll just stop and stare out my window on to detroit's 2nd ave and think is this it? is this my career? its as if i'm just playing radio business. its not just me i watch my fellow employees and they seem to be just playing their parts too. i begin to wonder, does anyone here really know what they're doing? i guess i'm a bit disenchanted with corporate life. i always assumed companies had their biz together more and created environments that would naturally grow their employees.
