last comic standing
last night went to see john heffron perform at the Royal Oak Theatre. what a great comedian! he really taps into the 20-30 something generation. i don't know if younger or older audiences would think he is as funny, but last night he rocked Royal Oak in his first of 4 scheduled shows. (3 of which are already sold out!) i laughed so hard that this morning my abdomen muscle are sore. (damn, i'm out of shape)
zero g
ok, how do even start to explain this? i've just had what will probably be the experience of my lifetime.
from the beginning . . .
the radio station i work for had the unique opportunity to put 8 passengers on a
zero gravity plane that has been stopping in major U.S. cities as part of a promotional tour. the company Zero-G will soon offer weightless flight to the general public for the not so thrify cost of $2950. as the promotion liason for this event i was asked to fill out all the paperwork and waivers as if i were going on the flight in case one of our winners was unable to participate. i had no intention of actually going. i had been on the phone with our winners all week, they were all super pumped to go, and no way was anyone backing down. the day of the flight, (as i expected)everyone showed up ready to go, but about 10 minutes before the briefing and training it was brought to our attention that they still had an open seat on the plane, and since i had already signed off on all the paperwork i was in.
this experience is very difficult to discribe because it is unlike any feeling your body has ever had. its very surreal. i kept thinking, "i'm floating! i'm floating?" so much fun was had doing one-handed push ups, standing on my hands, do forward and backward flips, flying through the air like Superman! it was wild!
check out the
website on how it all works. its very kool! i don't think i would spend $3000 to do it but its something i'll never for get. Zero-G is sending me some photos from inside the plane, that i will post soon.
tv tuesday
did anyone else notice that last nights Scrubs was not so obviously brought to you by Panera Bread? maybe i'm late for dinner on this, but last nights episode had at least three scenes with Panera Bread coffee cups in them.
big downer . . .
taped last comic standing in order to make time for grocery shopping. sat down to enjoy and missed the big cast off at the end of the show because the VCR time was set 4 minutes faster than reality. oh by the way, this was liz's fault!
